Through this letter, I would like to bring to your kind notice the miserable condition of the drainage system in our locality. Due to irregular clearance, most of the drains are choked with plastic waste and silt, leading to the overflow of wastewater onto the main roads.

The stagnant water has become a major breeding ground for mosquitoes and other insects, posing a severe threat of vector-borne diseases like Dengue and Malaria. During even a slight rainfall, the blocked drains cause artificial flooding, making it impossible for pedestrians and school children to commute. The foul stench emanating from the clogged drains has made the atmosphere toxic for the residents living nearby.

I would therefore, on behalf of the residents, request you to instruct the concerned department to initiate an immediate cleanup drive and ensure regular maintenance of the drains to prevent further health and civic hazards.
